Sustainable Edge is a boutique consulting firm recently launched to help clients with their strategic and business needs in embracing sustainability. It leverages the over 25 years of leadership experience of its founder, Jeff MacCallum, across a variety of sectors.
Jeff is an experienced sustainability executive with a track record of leading change within organizations which includes overseeing recycling program operations, government relations, and complex stakeholder management. Jeff’s experience as CEO of Divert NS and Managing Director at Circular Materials demonstrates his ability to lead large-scale initiatives, implement innovative solutions, and navigate complex regulatory environments. He has direct experience in the management of several environmental recycling programs including beverage deposit, used tires, used paint, electronics and curbside blue box/bags.
Jeff has deep economic development experience to accompany his expertise in the sustainability sector, working in partnership with municipalities, provincial governments, first nations and other stakeholders. He has worked with the Credit Unions to launch a new small business financing program and the Co-operative sector to implement new social equity programs. He worked with stakeholders across the Port of Halifax and the three levels of government in the ”SmartPort” initiative.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, an MBA from McMaster University and has completed the Executive Leadership Program at Queen’s University. He is currently a member of the Nova Scotia Minister’s Round Table on the Environment and Sustainable Prosperity and the Canadian Association of Management Consultants. His proven abilities in driving operational efficiency, developing strategic plans, and engaging with diverse stakeholders ensures that he can offer valuable insights and support to any organization.
